Overview
Born in Paris, Paul Jacoulet lived in Japan from age three, and became successful as an artist in Japan. He studied under Kuroda Seiki, Ikeda Terukata and Ikeda Shoen, producing Japanese and watercolor paintings, but he was especially strongly drawn to ukiyo-e, and has left us many masterpieces in the traditional woodblock print genre, produced with the same techniques as ukiyo-e. Enjoy Jacoulet’s world, richly colored and overflowing with charm.
