Overview
The Nakagawa-machi Bato Hiroshige Museum of Art opened 20 years ago based on the art collection of Aoki Tosaku who was from Sakura City in Tochigi Prefecture. In the years that followed, through donated and purchased works, the collection has grown and the museum now houses approximately 4500 works. In this special exhibit we introduce the masterpieces that are our pride and joy, including Utagawa Hiroshige’s hand-painted works, Kobayashi Kiyochika’s woodblock prints, Kawamura Kiyoo’s oil paintings and others.
